************** I love to see the Temple...............

I think I will try writing blogs again. I think it is good for the soul. Of course, I won't do it today...because it is late and I need sleep. Yesterday I went to the Washington D.C. temple with some ladies from church. It was a beautiful day and I took a quick picture with my cell phone.

Kristin is on YouTube!!

My daughter, Kristin Turberville, who is a HUGE Bono/U2 fan, wrote a song called "Duet With Bono". She is shown here playing her guitar and singing that song. She is also shown here singing and playing the piano version of U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday".

You can see both of these performances also on YouTube.com.

Good job Kristin!!

Merry Christmas Everyone

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Christmas Day is almost here and I wanted to take a few minutes to let everyone know how grateful I am to be on the Earth at this time. I am grateful for our Saviour Jesus Christ, and His great love and atonement for all of us. I am so happy to have a family and I am thankful for the joy that they have brought me. This video can be downloaded at www.foundationarts.com, compliments of Kenneth Cope and Liz Lemon Swindle. Enjoy the video and remember what Christmas is really all about: the birth of Jesus Christ and the hope that He brings to all mankind.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

What A Snowy Day!!

Yesterday was a winter "storm", dumping about 5 inches of snow in our area. I was lucky enough to work from home, so I captured the Christmas mood with a camera. I miss Alison, but I am sure she is having a wonderful time learning to be a missionary in the MTC. I look forward to Christmas so I can see Jessica and Scott (from Utah) AND I am still lucky to have Kristin here with me. I have been blessed with 3 wonderful girls (and a really cool son-in-law!!).

Feeling a little sad today...............

Tomorrow my youngest daughter starts a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be serving in the California Carlsbad mission. I am so proud of her and yet so sad that I won't see her for 18 months. I know that 18 months will fly by. I know that she will grow and learn and mature and all of that good stuff. I served my own mission to South Korea a billion years ago. It was the hardest thing yet the best thing I have ever done.

This picture was taken on Saturday at the airport before she left for Utah. We hadn't cried yet when this picture was taken. When it was time for her to leave, we hugged...and held on to each other for what seemed 5 mintues..at least. We waved goodbye knowing it was going to be some time before we see each other again. Isn't that like life? We say goodbye to those we love..but have great faith in knowing we will see them again when this life is over. Life is good.
